Coat Giveaway & Breast Cancer Awareness Walk & Celebration
The Roseland Community Hospital Foundation once again brought warmth and hope to the community with its Annual Breast Cancer Walk and Coat Drive Giveaway, a powerful day of unity, compassion, and purpose.
This year’s event combined two meaningful initiatives — raising awareness for breast cancer and providing winter essentials to families in need. The result was a vibrant community celebration filled with energy, generosity, and love.

A Morning of Movement and Meaning
The day kicked off at 10:30 AM as neighbors, families, and staff gathered for the RCH Breast Cancer Walk. Lined in pink and filled with enthusiasm, participants walked to honor survivors, remember loved ones, and raise awareness about the importance of early detection and preventive care.

A special thank-you goes to Roshawn Young and Somika Nixon, who coordinated the walk with dedication and passion. The first 189 registered walkers received a complimentary gift — a small token of appreciation for their big hearts and commitment to the cause.

Spreading Warmth — One Coat at a Time
Immediately following the walk, the Annual Coat Drive Giveaway began at 11:00 AM. Led by Nikia McGee, Executive Director of the Roseland Community Foundation, volunteers helped distribute warm coats, hats, and gloves to local families preparing for the colder months.
This initiative embodies what the Foundation stands for — community care in action. From organizing donations to personally handing out coats, volunteers and staff alike ensured that every guest felt valued and supported.
